Why We Give

Generosity originates with the generous love of God. It changes our hearts in a way that makes a difference in our world.

There are certain traits that define the culture of a group ... traits that come naturally and are expected. For The Bayou Church, one of those is generosity.

How We Give

One mission, one fund.

We have one mission as a church—transforming lives in Acadiana through Christ-centered relationships. We live out that mission in many different ways.

Our ongoing, weekly ministries serve preschoolers, kids, students, and adults from all different backgrounds with all different types of needs. We make a difference in Acadiana and around the world through our Ministry Partners. We make significant investments in our campus because it's one of the primary tools we have and we want to be good stewards of it.

All these areas are resourced through the giving of The Bayou family. When you make a contribution to The Bayou, you're contributing to all of the ways we pursue and live out our mission.

The Generosity Path

No matter where you are on the Generosity Path, what is the next step God is asking you to take?

Beginning Giver

Everyone starts here. Maybe you've never given to a church before. Maybe you've never given to any kind of non-profit organization before. Your next step as a Beginning Giver is to give something. That's it. It's a great place to start.

Consistent Giver

As you progress on the Generosity Path, you'll find that giving every once in a while is good, but God is inviting you to take a next step. Your next step as a Consistent Giver is to give every week or every month. You can even set up a recurring gift in our online giving platform.

Tithing Giver

This is a significant step for many people. For thousands of years—from long before Jesus came on the scene—God invited His people to give him a tithe: 10%. Your next step as a Tithing Giver is to give 10% of your gross income to your local church. Every step on the Generosity Path is a spiritual step—and this is a big one.

Expanding Giver

Many times, when people experience the benefits of giving a tithe of their income to their local church, they aren't satisfied. As God leads them, they give more. Your next step as an Expanding Giver is to give more than 10% of your income. What might that look like for you?

Extravagant Giver

When you reach this point of the Generosity Path, you realize that there is always more you can give—and you're excited to be able to do it! Your next step as an Extravagant Giver is to go big with your giving. What step is God asking you to take in generosity that seems impossible? You'll be amazed at what happens when you trust and follow Him.
