COVID-19 Safety Practices

Here is what you can expect as your child joins us on Sunday mornings in our Preschool & Kids Area:

  • Touchless check-in to reduce contact on surfaces. Staff and volunteers will assist families.
  • Parents will enter Preschool & Kids Area to drop off and pick-up.
  • Kids will still be separated by grades: (K-1st; 2nd-3rd; and 4th-5th)
  • We will have dots for social distancing within these spaces.
  • Kids will stay in their classrooms the entire service instead of joining with other grades for large group story time.

About Kids Ministry

Our mission is to help elementary-age children discover who they are in Christ and how God has uniquely called them to serve in His Kingdom.

Every Sunday, children (kindergarten through 5th grade) experience safe, age-appropriate environments where the Bible is taught in a creative and relevant way. We are so passionate about kids learning about Jesus in a way they can understand that we discourage their presence in our adult services.

Our Goals

Here’s what you can expect your kids to get from Kids ministry.

Provoke Discover

Our 252 Strategy provokes discovery and invites children to a new understanding of how to grow in relationship with Jesus. It is organized around key Bible stories that help kids discover Jesus and reflect His character to the world. Hands-on activities, high-energy games, new friends and encouraging words from the time they walk through the doors until they leave create an excitement to return each week!

Provide Community

Age-graded small groups are designed to support a safe environment with consistent leaders who engage children to trust God’s character and live out God’s story by loving and serving others. You can trust that our staff and volunteers serve because they love being with kids and are called by God to this ministry. Every volunteer is screened with a national background check, trained in child protection guidelines, and trained in their area of ministry.

Partner With Parents

We want to partner wth YOU! Take-home resources assist parents in continuing the Sunday morning experience at home throughout the week. We also encourage parents to get social with us on Facebook to stay updated and inspired by providing additional resources and sharing relevant topics.

First Time Guests

Come to the Preschool/Kids Check-In counter located in the Commons Area.

We will meet your family and register your child. One of our volunteers will then lead you and your child to their age-appropriate room. We will ask for the following personal information during this one-time only registration: parent/guardian name, child’s name and birthdate, address, phone number and any special instructions (allergies, special needs). If you prefer, you may print and fill out our Information Card before you arrive.

Check-In Process

You and your child will receive identification tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit.

Your child will need to wear the nametag portion which bears a code that is matched to your tag. The adult tag can be worn or held in a safe place. During checkout, return to your child’s room and show your tag. Volunteers will check for matching codes before releasing children. If a tag is misplaced or lost, please go directly to the Kids Check-In counter to present identification.

About Kids Ministry Online

We would love to connect with you and your family online.

For Kids in elementary school, we have several videos posted on the Bayou Kids Facebook page and on YouTube. In those videos, we sing songs together and use the same Bible curriculum as an on-campus service.

We'd love to connect with kids and parents during the week through our social media channels. Feel free to send us a message, comment on a post, or share with others!

When you download Parent Cue, you'll create a profile for each child to ensure you get access to the content specifically for them. You'll be able to access each week's lesson content for your child ... as many times as they want to! Not only that, but you'll find conversation guides and tips for connecting with your child no matter how old they are.
