What is a Bayou Care Minister?

Bayou Care Ministers are compassionate, spiritually mature individuals who provide ongoing, confidential care through intentional conversations and prayer. Whether someone is dealing with grief, anxiety, relational struggles, or spiritual questions, Care Ministers offer a safe space to talk, process, and find hope in Christ.

This isn’t just a listening role—it’s a ministry of presence and encouragement. Care Ministers come alongside people in our church and community with the love of Jesus and a heart to serve.

What You’ll Do as a Care Minister:

As a Care Minister, you’ll meet regularly with an individual over the course of eight weeks to walk with them through a difficult season. You’ll provide biblical encouragement rooted in grace, truth, and hope, while praying with and for the person you’re supporting. Through consistent, ongoing care, you’ll stay connected and committed, offering a steady presence as they navigate life’s challenges. Using the practical tools and training you’ve received, your role is to guide them toward spiritual and emotional independence.

What We Provide:

Care Ministers begin with a structured, four-week training program led by ministry leaders, designed to equip them with the tools needed to serve well. After completing the initial training, they receive ongoing quarterly training and support to continue growing in their role. In addition, Care Ministers have access to helpful resources and referrals to ensure they can offer wise, appropriate, and Christ-honoring care to those they support.

Is This Role Right for You?

You don’t have to have all the answers—just a teachable heart, a steady presence, and a love for people. If you’re someone who others naturally open up to… if you feel called to help others grow in their faith through life’s challenges … if you want to be part of a trusted care team that reflects the heart of Jesus—this may be your next step.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” - Galatians 6:2
