Alexandra, known as Alex, joined The Bayou in 2013. Her contagious smile and creative mind are valuable in her role as Preschool Administrative Assistant where she manages teaching themes, organizes volunteers and prepares for special events. This Seattle native is a fluent French speaker who loves Judice Inn, plant parenting and listening to podcasts.
Amanda, or Mandi, joined The Bayou in 2019 as our receptionist. Her kind and caring personality is evident in how she warmly greets and welcomes each person who walks through our doors, calls us, or sends an email to info. Although originally from Wisconsin, this mother of three loves a Cajun meal at Fezzos. When not working, you can find Mandi spending time with family and friends.
Becky, also affectionately known as Queen B, joined The Bayou in 1988. She brings her festive spirit and creativity to her role as Preschool Minister where she oversees the Sunday morning curriculum, childcare workers and volunteers. Though she wanted to grow up to be in The Partridge Family, Becky has an enormous Bayou family of preschoolers and parents. When not working, you can find Becky spending time with her husband, Pat, and their grandchildren or shopping for the best deals.
Bernard joined The Bayou staff in 2017 to coordinate our small groups ministry and then joined us full-time in 2019 as the Director of Adult Ministry. He originally wanted to grow up to be a garbage truck driver, but instead, he is using his gifts of empathy and curiosity to help people find community and life-giving relationships through small groups. Bernard is a Ragin’ Cajuns fan who enjoys running, camping, movies and spending time with his wife, Victoria, and their daughter.
Beronica joined The Bayou in 2014 and manages the office which includes our giant printer, busy calendar and ongoing supply needs. Beronica brings a tenacious, hard-working and optimistic attitude to her role as office manager and assistant to Care Pastor. Originally from California, this transplant loves spending time with her family especially her French bulldog, BeBe.
Carla started serving at The Bayou in 2016 with our Preschool team. She prepares Sunday morning story time scripts and props, and she assists on special events. She loves helping to build the foundation to a child’s future. When not working, this UL graduate loves reading, traveling, and seeing friends.
Carol joined The Bayou in 1999, and she currently serves as Director of Ministries. Her joyful spirit, flexible attitude and organization skills are valued as she oversees Sunday morning curriculums, ministry events, communications and more. She loves seeing lives transformed each week, and she especially loves helping people discover a place to serve God. When not working, Carol enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike, and her three sons.
Charlie started at The Bayou in 2012 and currently serves as Database Coordinator helping multiple ministries connect with guests, members and volunteers. Growing up, Charlie wanted to be a Power Ranger, but instead, he and his wife, Hillary, love to visit Walt Disney World and all the newest attractions.
Cory joined The Bayou in 2018 to serve on our facility team. She is kind and patient as she maintains our campus from floor to ceiling making sure it’s clean and inviting. When not working, this beach lover can be found cheering on the Saints or spending time with her kids and dog.
Darren, also known as Papa D, joined the team in 2018 to lead the student worship team for Sunday mornings and other events. He loves the opportunity to teach the next generation about worship. When not working or serving, Darren can be found learning or creating online tutorials or spending time with his wife, Ashton, and their cat.
Deana joined the The Bayou staff in 2003, and she currently serves as Director of Operations. Her professional, upbeat, and down-to-earth personality help her find solutions to financial and logistical situations. She loves watching how God works things out for His glory. When not working, you can find this Franklin native spending time with her husband, Mike, two kids, and family pets.
Derek, also known as Griff, joined The Bayou in 2019 as Student Pastor. He enjoys investing in the next generation of Christ followers, and he brings energy and authenticity to the role. This Monroe native enjoys spending time with his wife, Katie, reading, writing, or enjoying local restaurants like Shucks.
Ed started at The Bayou in 2005. He brings creativity and humility to his role as Worship Pastor where he oversees the worship team, musicians, vocalists, and instruments. Ed also composes music for Sunday mornings, special events, and videos. When not working, this Saints and Cajuns fan loves sleeping late, spending time with his family, and visiting New Orleans.
Harley, also known as Moana, joined The Bayou staff in 2018. She brings her jovial spirit to the Kids Ministry, and she loves being able to brighten a child’s day through her work. In her free time, you can find her enjoying a Chris’s Poboy, catching the latest releases on Netflix or randomly bursting into a musical number.
Heith hails from Shreveport, LA. He has brought a pensive, genuine and creative heart to The Bayou team since 2008. As Associate Worship Pastor, he manages the music aspect of Sunday services. When not working, Heith enjoys spending time with his wife, Jessica, and their four kids.
Hillary, or Hill when we’re in a hurry, started at The Bayou in 2011. She brings a warm smile and detailed eye to her role as accountant. She manages all accounts payables, weekly contributions and our favorite: payroll. Hillary loves seeing how God transforms donations into changed lives, mission trips and outreach events. When not working, Hillary enjoys hanging out with her husband, Charlie, and their small zoo of rabbits and cats.
Jacob joined the facilities team in 2017. He enjoys maintaining our campus so others have a place to attend church. This California native has a competitive side, but he serves daily with honesty and humor. When not working, Jacob enjoys coffee, sushi, and swimming.
Jennifer joined The Bayou in 2018 as Bayou Beanery Coordinator. She is motivated and efficient as she manages coffee inventory and Sunday morning volunteers. She loves that her role allows her to meet new guests and learn about the lives of her regular customers. When not working, Jennifer is usually spending time with her two daughters.
Jeramy brings fun, joy and sarcasm to the role of Technical Coordinator as he handles all audio, lights and visual needs for Sunday services and events across campus. With each event, he finds fulfillment in creating environments that point people to Jesus. When not working, Jeramy enjoys hunting, fishing or spending time with his wife, Kori, and their daughter.
Kristie joined The Bayou in 2012. Currently, she serves as Facility Team Coordinator where she leads the team to prepare our campus for Sunday services. Though she considers herself an introvert, this health enthusiast teaches fitness classes and inspires us with her healthy lunches. When not working, you can find her spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Leah, affectionately called LO, loves that each part of her role as Adult Ministry Assistant is part of building God’s Kingdom. She supports everything related to First Steps, small groups, Financial Peace University and any adult ministry events. This Starbucks lover enjoys spending her free time walking the aisles of Target or cheering for the LSU Tigers with her husband, Matt, and three kids.
Linton joined The Bayou staff in 2018 as Care Pastor which includes leading Celebrate Recovery, making hospital visits, counseling individuals or couples, managing benevolence and more. Linton is passionate about giving people hope through their struggles. When not working, this Cajuns fan enjoys playing golf, eating ballpark nachos and spending time with his wife, Rachel, and their three kids.
Lon, or L.J., joined The Bayou in 2012 as part of the facilities team. He loves that setting up for the wide variety of events means he’s setting the stage for ministry to happen. When not working, this California native loves crawfish, catching the latest flicks at the cinema, and playing video games.
Lydia, also known as Lyds, started at The Bayou in 2012. Her analytic mind, passion for helping others grow spiritually and sass are the perfect blend in her role as Adult Minister. Lydia oversees all small groups, adult ministry events and First Steps classes. When not working, Lydia enjoys being at home with her husband, Cody, and two sons. She also enjoys keeping up with her siblings and tasting the spiciest foods at local restaurants.
Madelyn, or Maddie, joined The Bayou staff in 2015. She loves being part of how The Bayou impacts Acadiana and the kingdom of heaven through her role as Executive Admin Assistant and Missions Coordinator. Maddie is reliable, forward thinking and empathetic as she juggles a variety of events, mission trips and other projects. She thought she’d grow up to be a veterinarian, but instead, she and her husband, Matt, have three rescue dogs.
Mike, or Padre, has faithfully served The Bayou Church over 30 years as Senior Pastor. Through his courageous leadership, the church has grown exponentially. His passion and vision is to see lives transformed in Acadiana and beyond through Christ-centered relationships. When not working, Padre enjoys time with his wife, Paula, children and grandchildren.
Morgan joined our team in 2018 as Kids Ministry Assistant. Her bubbly personality is contagious as she plans Sunday morning activities for K-5th grades and works with both interns and volunteers. She loves that her role reminds her that age is not a barrier to knowing God. This Houma native also loves hanging out with friends, funny movies, and visiting Olde Tyme Grocery.
Randall joined The Bayou staff in 2018 as Facility Manager. He oversees our 13-acre campus including 93,000-square feet of space for all Sunday services and events with a professional and thoughtful attitude. When not working, Randall enjoys fishing, cooking and spending time with his two kids and friends.
Samantha, or Sami, joined The Bayou in 2018 to serve with our Student Ministry. Her compassionate heart is ideal as she helps students take their next step whether that’s finding a small group, scheduling a baptism or discovering ways to serve. When not working, this Houma native enjoys hanging out with friends, especially at Judice Inn.
Sammy, or Sambo, manages video creation and editing as Production Assistant. Though he originally wanted to grow up to be Batman or a firefighter, he enjoys using his creative talents to lead people to Christ. When not working, you can often find Sammy traveling and spending time with his wife, Ramsey, and two kids.
Sarah joined The Bayou in 2014 as Promotions Coordinator. She edits all print pieces, manages website and social media content and coordinates several volunteer teams. She enjoys sharing the hope we have in Christ through visual communication and building community on teams. Though she wanted to grow up to be a veterinarian or Broadway dancer, this dog lover enjoys training her rescue dogs and dancing in her free time.
Sean Walker serves as the Executive Pastor at The Bayou Church alongside his father, Mike Walker, the Senior Pastor. Sean grew up at The Bayou and has volunteered and served in many different capacities and ministries. He graduated from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette and then received his Masters of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He officially joined the staff in 2008 as the Student Pastor and led 6th-12th grade students until 2015. Sean loves having a front row seat to see God’s miracles in people’s lives every day. When not preaching, leading staff or spending time with people in the church, you can find this Saints fan watching football, training for marathons, or spending time with his wife, Tory, and their two kids.
Todd has faithfully served The Bayou since 2004 helping to cast vision as Associate Executive Pastor. Though he wanted to grow up to be a professional athlete, God called him to help churches thrive. Todd is a well-established stewardship coach, generosity leader, author, and conference speaker. When not working, you can find this Alabama fan (?!) spending time outside or with his wife, Theresa, and their two children.
Whitney, also known as Whit, hails from Elton, LA. She has brought her bubbly personality, organizational skills and distinct voice to The Bayou since 2006. Currently, Whitney is Worship Ministry Admin Assistant, and she supports all audio, lights and video related to Sunday services or other events. In her free time, you can find this Saints fan reading, watching movies, or competing in trivia games.
