Find a Place to Serve

Serving at The Bayou isn't just about filling a spot—it's about being personally involved in our mission to help people know God, find community, and make a difference. Whether your role is very visible or behind the scenes, you'll be more connected and have a deeper sense of belonging as we serve Acadiana together.

God has given each of us unique abilities and experiences that can bless others and help build His Church. When you step in to serve, you're not only meeting real needs—you're also growing in your faith, building relationships, and playing a part in something that truly matters.

Serving Is a Privilege

We ask everyone who serves to go through our First Steps classes so they can better understand who we are as a church and what we believe. We also take the trust our church family places in us seriously, which is why every Serve Team volunteer is screened with a national background check and, for NextGen volunteers, also trained in child protection guidelines.

Your background check will remain confidential with the smallest number of people possible. It's also important to know that the background check is a part of the process, not the entire process. We will discuss any potential issues with you to understand any appropriate context before deciding on the best place for you to serve.
