About Student Ministry

Our vision is to see the next generation accept Christ, get connected, be empowered, and serve with humility.

The Bayou Students is a ministry dedicated to helping students (6th -12th grade) build a transforming relationship with God. Students are invited to join us for Student Sunday Nights for age-specific ministry made specifically to connect with them. At Student Sunday Night, the campus is transformed into a place just for students. Programming includes worship, teaching, and small groups. By keeping all of those things together, we ensure 100% participation in student small groups, which are a key component of our strategy to forge life-long faith in each student.

Additionally, we believe that one of the primary ways to influence the long-term faith of students is their integration with the larger life of the church during their teenage years. On Sunday mornings, we encourage students to attend the Sunday morning services and find a place to serve on Sunday mornings so they can feel like they are a larger part of the church community.

Student Sunday Nights

All middle school and high school students have services on Sundays at 5:00pm.

Our students take over our campus on Sunday evenings as part of our commitment to providing age-specific ministry. This weekly event includes worship, teaching, and small groups (and that complete experience lasts about 2 hours). By keeping all of those things together, we ensure 100% participation in student small groups, which are a key component to our strategy to forge life-long faith in each student. Here are a few details to expect for Sunday evenings:

  • Parents can drop off (starting at 4:00pm) and pick up at the main entrance at 7:00pm.
  • Students should enter through the main entrance to check-in before entering service.
  • Students will have a time of worship and message from 5:00-6:00pm; Small groups will meet by grade and gender from 6:00-7:00pm.

Bayou Students Internship

The Internship exists to provide students, middle school through high school, an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy of leadership.

The Bayou Students Internship will add value to a student’s life and help them grow in their relationship with God through leadership development, serving opportunities, and active involvement within the church.

Small Groups

We meet weekly to talk about God, the Bible, and real life.

Small groups offer students the opportunity to meet new friends, to grow in their faith, and to learn from amazing adult leaders and volunteers. Small groups meet year round during Student Sunday Nights in groups based on grade and gender. Join us at any Student Sunday Night to get plugged into an age-appropriate group. (Note: Students are not required to be a Christian to join a small group. All are welcome!)

Summer Camps

Opportunities for students to grow in faith

summer is one of our favorite times of the year! And what’s a better way to spend summer than by going to camp? We offer camps for both middle school and high school students each June. Students have the opportunity to leave the comfort of their homes and get away from distractions so they can connect more with others and grow in their relationship with Christ. Check out our Events page each spring for more details and to sign up!
