The Holy Spirit Leads
February 8, 2026
Week 1 - The Spirit inside of us is better than Jesus beside us.
Week 2 - You are the temple where the Holy Spirit dwells.
“If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.” Galatians 5:25 (CSB)
The Spirit gives us life and then He gives us direction.
“Then Jesus left the Jordan, full of the Holy Spirit, … ” Luke 4:1 (CSB)
Jesus was full of the Spirit, led by the Spirit, and obedient to the Spirit.
“15Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise—16making the most of the time, because the days are evil. 17So don’t be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18And don’t get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless living, but be filled by the Spirit … ” Ephesians 5:15-18 (CSB)
“1 … and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness 2for forty days to be tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and when they were over, He was hungry. 3The devil said to Him, ‘If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.’ 4But Jesus answered him, ‘It is written: Man must not live on bread alone.’ 5So he took Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6The devil said to Him, ‘I will give you their splendor and all this authority, because it has been given over to me, and I can give it to anyone I want. 7If you, then, will worship me, all will be yours.’ 8And Jesus answered him, ‘It is written: Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’ 9So he took Him to Jerusalem, had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, ‘If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here. 10For it is written: He will give His angels orders concerning you, to protect you, 11and they will support you with their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’ 12And Jesus answered him, ‘It is said: Do not test the Lord your God.’ 13After the devil had finished every temptation, he departed from Him for a time.” Luke 4:1-13 (CSB)
“8When He comes, He will convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment: 9About sin, because they do not believe in me; 10about righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see me; 11and about judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. 12I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now. 13When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak whatever He hears. He will also declare to you what is to come. 14He will glorify me, because He will take from what is mine and declare it to you. 15Everything the Father has is mine. This is why I told you that He takes from what is mine and will declare it to you.” John 16:8-15 (CSB)
Three Ways the Holy Spirit Leads Us:
By the Word → Through the Wilderness → Into Worship
#1 - The Holy Spirit leads us by the Word of God (Luke 1:4, 8, 12)
“16All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (CSB)
Clarity on His will. Warning through conviction. Sustains us on the day of war.
The Holy Spirit will never contradict the Holy Scriptures.
#2 - The Holy Spirit leads us through the wilderness (Luke 4:1-2)
The wilderness is where faith stops being theory and becomes testimony.
“26In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings. 27And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:26-28 (CSB)
#3 - The Holy Spirit leads us into worship (Luke 4:8)
“He will glorify me, because He will take from what is mine and declare it to you.” John 16:14 (CSB)
“God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24 (CSB)
When the Spirit reveals Christ, surrender to His leadership is the only reasonable response.

The Holy Spirit Empowers
February 15, 2026
Week 1 - The Spirit inside of us is better than Jesus beside us.
Week 2 - You are the temple where the Holy Spirit dwells.
Week 3 - The Holy Spirit leads us by the Word, through the wilderness, into worship.
“8But you will receive power (dýnamis) when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses (martyres) in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (CSB)
Power → Witness
“42They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. 43Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and signs were being performed through the apostles. 44Now all the believers were together and held all things in common. 45They sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with joyful and sincere hearts, 47praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. Every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42-47 (CSB)
The Holy Spirit empowers ordinary obedience, everyday awareness, and public witness.
“1Now Peter and John were going up to the temple for the time of prayer at three in the afternoon. 2A man who was lame from birth was being carried there. He was placed each day at the temple gate called Beautiful, so that he could beg from those entering the temple.” Acts 3:1-2 (CSB)
#1 - The Holy Spirit Empowers Ordinary Obedience
“3When he saw Peter and John about to enter the temple, he asked for money. 4Peter, along with John, looked straight at him and said, “Look at us.” 5So he turned to them, expecting to get something from them.” Acts 3:3-5 (CSB)
#2 - The Holy Spirit Empowers Everyday Awareness
The Spirit often empowers us by interrupting our routines so we can notice people God refuses to ignore.
If we’re too busy to notice broken people, we’re too busy to be led by the Spirit.
“5So he turned to them, expecting to get something from them. 6But Peter said, “I don’t have silver or gold, but what I do have, I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!” 7Then, taking him by the right hand he raised him up, and at once his feet and ankles became strong. 8So he jumped up and started to walk, and he entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. 9All the people saw him walking and praising God, 10and they recognized that he was the one who used to sit and beg at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. So they were filled with awe and astonishment at what had happened to him.” Acts 3:5-10 (CSB)

“16By faith in His name, His name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. So the faith that comes through Jesus has given him this perfect health in front of all of you.” Acts 3:16 (CSB)
“37You know the events that took place throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John preached: 38how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, (dýnamis) and how He went about doing good and healing all who were under the tyranny of the devil, because God was with Him.” Acts 10:37-38 (CSB)
“26But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.” John 14:26 (CSB)

One summoned to help.
One who stands with you and strengthens you.
