Men, Lead!
A Move of God - Part 3
September 28, 2025
Series Context
- Baptism Sunday next Sunday, Oct 5
Men, if you want to see true lasting revival, God has positioned us to lead it.
God has tasked us with leading the way.
“21And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. 22For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of His body, the church. 24As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything. 25For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her 26to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. 27He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. 28In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. 29No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. 30And we are members of His body. 31As the Scriptures say, ‘A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ 32This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. 33So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
1Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. 2‘Honor your father and mother.’ This is the first commandment with a promise: 3If you honor your father and mother, ‘things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.’ 4Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.” Ephesians 5:21-6:4 (NLT)
- Men, lead!
- The women in your life want you to!
“8When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees. 9Then the Lord God called to the man, ‘Where are you?’” Genesis 3:8-9 (NLT)
- God called Adam, not Eve, to account.
- Men and women have equal value but different roles.
The quickest way for the enemy to take out a family is to take out the man.
When a man abdicates his role as a father...
- Fallout is MASSIVE!
- 1 in 4 kids don’t have a dad in their lives, ~19 million
- 63% youth suicides are from fatherless kids
- 85% youth with behavior disorders are fatherless
- 83% incarcerated youth are fatherless
- Fatherless children are 300-400% more likely to live in poverty
- Fatherless kids are more likely to: Have lower grades, more trauma and abuse, higher drug/alcohol use
- Too many grown men are still acting like little boys
I believe the #1 solution to our greatest problems as a country is fathers!
“5Look, I am sending you the prophet Elijah before the great and dreadful day of the Lord arrives. 6His preaching will turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers. Otherwise I will come and strike the land with a curse.” Malachi 4:5-6 (NLT)
“16And he (John) will turn many Israelites to the Lord their God. 17He will be a man with the spirit and power of Elijah. He will prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and he will cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly.” Luke 1:16-17 (NLT)
“4Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. 5And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. 6And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. 8Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. 9Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (NLT)
