Bring Your Best

One of the greatest sicknesses of the American church is consumerism.

42All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. 43A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity47all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42-47 (NLT)

The church is the bride of Christ!

25For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her 26to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word.” Ephesians 5:25-26 (NLT)

4Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, 5so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.Romans 12:4-5 (NLT)

Are you coming to church only to consume or ready to contribute?
  • Attend 8am or Theater
  • Invite (tools to help)
  • A word about the future ...
I don’t care about being the biggest or the flashiest or the coolest.

We want to be a church that is:

  • healthy, faithful and fruitful.
  • built on the Word and the Spirit.

12What can I offer the Lord for all He has done for me? 13I will lift up the cup of salvation and praise the Lord’s name for saving me. 14I will keep my promises to the Lord in the presence of all His people.” Psalm 116:12-14 (NLT)

Additional verses for further study:

24Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.” Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT)

40The two choirs that were giving thanks then proceeded to the Temple of God, where they took their places. So did I, together with the group of leaders who were with me. 41We went together with the trumpet-playing priests ... 42They played and sang loudly under the direction of Jezrahiah the choir director. 43Many sacrifices were offered on that joyous day, for God had given the people cause for great joy. The women and children also participated in the celebration, and the joy of the people of Jerusalem could be heard far away.” Nehemiah 12:40-43 (NLT)
