“12For just as the body is one and has many parts, and all the parts of that body, though many, are one body—so also is Christ. 13For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and we were all given one Spirit to drink. 14Indeed, the body is not one part but many. 15If the foot should say, ‘Because I’m not a hand, I don’t belong to the body,’ it is not for that reason any less a part of the body. 16And if the ear should say, ‘Because I’m not an eye, I don’t belong to the body,’ it is not for that reason any less a part of the body. 17If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18But as it is, God has arranged each one of the parts in the body just as He wanted. 19And if they were all the same part, where would the body be? 20As it is, there are many parts, but one body. 21The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I don’t  need you!’ Or again, the head can’t say to the feet, ‘I don’t need you!’ 22On the contrary, those parts of the body that are weaker are indispensable. 23And those parts of the body that we consider less honorable, we clothe these with greater honor, and our unrespectable parts are treated with greater respect, 24which our respectable parts do not need.” 1 Corinthians 12:12-24 (CSB)

Independence says, “I don’t need you.”

Interdependence says, “I have a part to play, and so do you.”

“1When He entered Capernaum again after some days, it was reported that He was at home. 2So many people gathered together that there was no more room, not even in the doorway, and He was speaking the word to them. 3They came to Him bringing a paralytic, carried by four of them. 4Since they were not able to bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Him, and after digging through it, they lowered the mat on which the paralytic was lying. 5Seeing their faith, Jesus told the paralytic, ‘Son, your sins are forgiven.’  6But some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts: 7‘Why does He speak like this? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?’ 8Right away Jesus perceived in His spirit that they were thinking like this within themselves and said to them, ‘Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? 9Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, “Your sins are forgiven,” or to say, “Get up, take your mat, and walk”? 10But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins’—He told the paralytic—11‘I tell you: get up, take your mat, and go home.’ 12Immediately he got up, took the mat, and went out in front of everyone. As a result, they were all astounded and gave glory to God, saying, ‘We have never seen anything like this!’” Mark 2:1-12 (CSB)

Four Corners of Life Together:

Corner #1: Support (Vs. 3)

Corner #2 - Courage (Vs. 4)

Corner #3 - Faith (Vs. 5)

Corner #4 - Commitment (Vs 3-4)

Who carries your corner? Whose corner are you carrying?

Sometimes you carry a corner. Sometimes you’re the one on the mat. We all need people who will help us get to Jesus.

You cannot become who God called you to be apart from community.

You cannot experience all that God has for you apart from community.

You cannot accomplish all that God has for you apart from community.
