Week 1 - The Spirit inside of us is better than Jesus beside us.
Week 2 - You are the temple where the Holy Spirit dwells.

“If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.” Galatians 5:25 (CSB)

The Spirit gives us life and then He gives us direction.

“Then Jesus left the Jordan, full of the Holy Spirit, … ” Luke 4:1 (CSB)

Jesus was full of the Spirit, led by the Spirit, and obedient to the Spirit.

“¹⁵Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise—¹⁶making the most of the time, because the days are evil. ¹⁷So don’t be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. ¹⁸And don’t get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless living, but be filled by the Spirit … ” Ephesians 5:15-18 (CSB)

“¹ … and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness ²for forty days to be tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and when they were over, He was hungry. ³The devil said to Him, ‘If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.’ ⁴But Jesus answered him, ‘It is written: Man must not live on bread alone.’ ⁵So he took Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. ⁶The devil said to Him, ‘I will give you their splendor and all this authority, because it has been given over to me, and I can give it to anyone I want. ⁷If you, then, will worship me, all will be yours.’ ⁸And Jesus answered him, ‘It is written: Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’ ⁹So he took Him to Jerusalem, had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, ‘If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here. ¹⁰For it is written: He will give His angels orders concerning you, to protect you, ¹¹and they will support you with their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’ ¹²And Jesus answered him, ‘It is said: Do not test the Lord your God.’ ¹³After the devil had finished every temptation, he departed from Him for a time.” Luke 4:1-13 (CSB)

“⁸When He comes, He will convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment: ⁹About sin, because they do not believe in me; ¹⁰about righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see me; ¹¹and about judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. ¹²I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now. ¹³When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak whatever He hears. He will also declare to you what is to come. ¹⁴He will glorify me, because He will take from what is mine and declare it to you. ¹⁵Everything the Father has is mine. This is why I told you that He takes from what is mine and will declare it to you.” John 16:8-15 (CSB)

Three Ways the Holy Spirit Leads Us:
By the Word → Through the Wilderness → Into Worship

#1 - The Holy Spirit leads us by the Word of God (Luke 1:4, 8, 12)

“¹⁶All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, ¹⁷so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (CSB)

Clarity on His will. Warning through conviction. Sustains us on the day of war.

The Holy Spirit will never contradict the Holy Scriptures.

#2 - The Holy Spirit leads us through the wilderness (Luke 4:1-2)

The wilderness is where faith stops being theory and becomes testimony.

“²⁶In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings. ²⁷And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. ²⁸We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:26-28 (CSB)

#3 - The Holy Spirit leads us into worship (Luke 4:8)

“He will glorify me, because He will take from what is mine and declare it to you.” John 16:14 (CSB)

“God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24 (CSB)

When the Spirit reveals Christ, surrender to His leadership is the only reasonable response.
