Why is there so much chaos in the home?

Satan knows: if he can destabilize the home, he can destabilize the entire culture.

God prophecies a sign:

“His preaching will turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers. Otherwise I will come and strike the land with a curse.” Malachi 4:6 (NLT)

“He will be a man with the spirit and power of Elijah. He will prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and he will cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly.” Luke 1:17 (NLT)

At the close of the OT and opening of the NT God points to reconciliation between fathers and children as evidence of His restoration.

Satan has a strategy to destroy the home. God designed an authority structure to strengthen it.

22For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of His body, the church. 24As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything.” Ephesians 5:22-24 (NLT)

25For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up His life for her 26to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. 27He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. 28In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. 29No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. 30And we are members of His body.” Ephesians 5:25-30 (NLT)

31As the Scriptures say, ‘A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ 32This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one.” Ephesians 5:31-32 (NLT)

3The husband should fulfill his wife’s sexual needs, and the wife should fulfill her husband’s needs. 4The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife. 5Do not deprive each other of sexual relations, unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time so you can give yourselves more completely to prayer. Afterward, you should come together again so that Satan won’t be able to tempt you because of your lack of self-control.” 1 Corinthians 7:3-5 (NLT)

“So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.” Ephesians 5:33 (NLT)

1Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. 2‘Honor your father and mother.’ This is the first commandment with a promise: 3If you honor your father and mother, ‘things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.’” Ephesians 6:1-3 (NLT)

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4 (NLT)
