Hurricane season is here, and we're always monitoring the weather for any serious storms that would affect our services or other events. We encourage you to create a preparedness or evacuation plan for your family and pets during this season. Please also heed all emergency warnings from local and state officials regarding road travel. We want you and all of our neighbors to be safe, and we are preparing to respond once the storm has passed.
Update (as of Sunday, July 14, 6:00pm):
Please check out this update from Pastor Sean. Please also let us know if we can help you with any storm damage. (Send us an email or call us this week.) We were poised to be a resource center following the storm, but this does not seem to be necessary at this time. Your regular giving allows us to be ready to respond in these situations, so thank you for supporting the ministry of The Bayou Church.
Update (as of Sunday, July 14, 10:30am):
For all students participating in High School Beach Camp, check-in will be at 10:00pm tonight with a departure at 12:30am for Florida. This delayed departure will provide a safer route for traveling.
Update (as of Saturday, July 13, 9:30am):
In an effort to keep everyone safe and off the roads for this lingering tropical storm, we have canceled Sunday services. Our prayer is that you rest in God's unfailing love and experience His joy today as you trust in His care for you (Psalm 13:5). Please also know that we are poised to respond once the storm has passed, and we hope you will join us in those efforts to make a difference in the name of Jesus. Check out Pastor Mike's weather update.
Update (as of Friday, July 12, 5:00pm):
We are continuing to monitor Tropical Storm Barry, preparing to respond after the storm as a resource center, and praying for God's hand of protection for all along the Gulf coast. For that reason, we will make the call by noon tomorrow (Saturday) regarding our Sunday morning services. Please check back on our website or social media for a message from our pastor tomorrow.
Update (as of Thursday, July 11, 9:00am):
We have decided to cancel Saturday Prayer on July 13 from 9:00am-10:00am. Our staff will pray for all prayer requests submitted on Sunday. While we won't be on site to pray together Saturday, we realize many of you may want to join us in praying for what may be ahead this weekend. If so, please join us in praying for protection, for those most vulnerable, and for resilience for all in the path of the storm.
