About Giving

At The Bayou Church, we believe that giving is an opportunity to experience the joy in God’s plan for our lives.

Whether you’d like to give your tithe, a one-time gift or schedule ongoing donations, you can do it ALL online. It’s quick, easy, and secure. “PushPay,” our online giving system, allows for simple giving from a variety of locations. When giving online, you can use your checking account, debit or credit card (that you pay off each month!), whichever is most convenient for you. Thank you for your support of The Bayou Church and the mission to transform lives in Acadiana through Christ-centered relationships.

Why We Give

Generosity originates with the generous love of God. It moves us from ownership to stewardship and changes our hearts in a way that makes a difference in our world.

Our mission to transform Acadiana through Christ-centered relationships requires courageous generosity. If we all take a bold step toward faithful giving, we will see God use our obedience to change our world, together. For more background on why we give, you can listen to Pastor Mike’s teaching on Courageous Generosity.

Our Giving Model

“You are familiar with the generosity of our Master, Jesus Christ. Rich as He was, He gave it all away for us--in one stroke He became poor and we became rich.” 2 Corinthians 8:9 (MSG)

We believe that living out our faith means everyone participates in biblical giving. Our giving model outlines a practical action plan for the type of giver you are. The main thing is that you commit to a lifestlye of faithful giving. In 2 Corinthians 8:9, the Apostle Paul reminds us that Jesus was rich and became poor so we could be rich. He was talking about a transformation that takes place when we invite Jesus to transform us.

Still Wondering About Giving?

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the flood gates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” -Malachi 3:10

In the Bible, we learn about a standard for giving which is called the tithe. When we give the first 10% of our income to the church, we’re putting God first as we exercise our gratitude, faith, and love for others. Tithing is about training our hearts to trust God at His Word. The Bible says we can test this promise. When we bring our first and best to God, He promises to bless the rest. We encourage you to test the Lord by challenging yourself to tithe for the next 90 days and see how God blesses you.
